This walking route will allow you to discover the southern part of Anoia in a calm and unhurried way, to get into its culture, gastronomy, nature and traditions. You will meet its people who will teach you the most artisan trades, you will walk through natural spaces of great beauty and you will taste the local products, like the sausage of Calaf. Just twelve days to enjoy l’Anoia slowly.

Day 1 Arrival and orientation briefingThe arrival to the Can Carol hotel, in Capellades, where you will stay the first night and we will give you the welcome meeting.

Day 2 Capellades & Wind Mill7.0 kmIn the morning, you will do a visit and workshop in the Paper Mill Museum. After the visit, you will start your walking tour around Capellades, discovering a variety of natural points with their own history. The walk is around 7km long and it takes almost two hours to do it with a crawling pace.

Day 3 VILANOVA DEL CAMI & ELS ESGAVELLATS11.0 kmWe will take the train to Vilanova del Camí, the town where our walk begins. After an hour, we will arrive at Esgavellats, a natural site where the wind and rain have created rock formations in large blocks surrounded by vegetation. The mountain range gets its name from the fact that this part of the mountain is as if broken, "dislocated". It is an enchanting place, a bit "labyrinthic", to play hide and seek. We will continue our itinerary until we reach Igualada, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we visit the center of this city. where we will spend the night. Since it is the capital of the region, there are plenty of things to see and do.

Day 4 Tossa de Montbui11.0 kmIn the morning, before leaving, we will take the opportunity to visit the Igualada Leather Museum where we will have a guided tour and visit the workshop. Afterwards, we will take a circular route that will bring us closer to Tossa de Montbui, a 620m high mountain with a castle on its summit, located near the Xaragalls, where we will be able to observe the shapes of some rocks eroded by rain. We will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the castle, where we will be told its history. Return to Igualada.

Day 5 Beekeepers and vineyards11.0 kmLeaving the hotel on the way to Sant Marti de Tous, we will take a path through vineyards. Today, we will stop for a visit to the beekeepers of Mas Buret, where they will show us how honey is made and we will have the opportunity to taste the different types of honey and discover why they taste different. In the afternoon we recommend going for a walk around the town and going up to the castle.

Day 6 Waterfalls and nature12.0 kmToday’s walk is pretty flat and with a different landscape compared to the previous days. Two and a half kilometers after leaving the village you will find some brooks fed by a small waterfall. The path continuous over a small hill and takes us to Orpi. In this village we have dinner and spend the night in the rural hotel Can Morei.

Day 7 Rest dayDay off. For lunch we will go to Castell d'Orpí, from where we will have fantastic views and enjoy a restaurant with local cuisine. Next door we have the baroque church of Sant Miquel d'Orpí which is worth visiting. On your way back to the hotel, you can go through the gorges of Santa Cândida, where, on a hot day, you can take a dip. Quiet day to enjoy the nature and tranquility of Anoia.

Day 8 Forests, fields and vineyards10.0 kmToday´s hike is a continuous up and down over poorly marked, narrow paths through forests, fields and vineyards. Total climbing today consists of 400m. Once we arrive at la Llacuna, we will visit Can Gripasso, where we will taste wines accompanied with cheeses from the village farmers.

Day 9 Contrast of landscapes12.0 kmLeaving La Llacuna, the path rises to the top of the mountain. From there, a gentle descent begins for 3km, leaving the forest and ending up in pastures. After crossing this area of fields and pastures, the path goes back into dense forest, slowly climbing for less than 2km, until we reach the peak of El Castellot. From there we start to descend until we leave the forest and reach Avelllà, the town where the walk ends.

Day 10 South of L'Anoia11.0 kmThe first kilometers are very flat, slightly descending until you reach the base of Montpedrós mountain, from where you begin a descent along a spectacular path where you will see two completely different landscapes: on our left, forest and mountain, and to our right, a fantastic valley, dotted with villages and fields. Then you will go along the village of Sant Quinti de Mediona, before arriving at the accommodation.

Day 11 Capellades10.0 kmToday's itinerary begins by leaving the village and crossing the fields along a narrow path. After this flat start we will come across a small hill that we will go up, until we reach the highest point where we will have views of the entire south of the region. From there, all that remains is to go down until we reach Capellades, where we will stay.

Day 12 PAPER MILLIn the morning, we will do a workshop and visit the Capellades Paper Mill Museum, where we will make our own paper using traditional methods as it was done years ago. After the visit, our journey ends and it is time to go home.
